Site Statistics help you understand how much traffic your site is receiving. The software tracking your traffic ranks your pages by popularity, and even let's you know the most common words used by search engines to find your pages. It will also specify the number of individual user sessions your pages receive, so you can more accurately determine the number of different users accessing your site.
We do not charge you to set up site statistics, though some programas that are available are available through license only (such as Web Trends Log Analyzer) and are not free. We suggest Urchin, which we bundle free with our server products. Urchin also comes packaged with the Freedom product.Everytime someone visits your web site, that information is entered into an "access" log which kept on your site until deleted. That log file is what web "stats" programs read to determine the traffic at your web site. It's quite important to keep tabs on your traffic, for there is no other way to know what pages on your site of interest, and which pages are not, which advertisements or banners work, and which ones do not, and which search engines are working for you, and which ones are not.
